Bridges Conference 2008

We’re going to the Netherlands!

This month (July 2008), my wife and I will be traveling to Europe to participate in the 11th annual Bridges Conference, a gathering of mathematicians, artists, musicians, architects, educators, and more in a "lively atmosphere of exchange and mutual encouragement." Part of the conference is a curated Mathematical Art Exhibit, where I will be showing five pieces of algorithmic artwork, shown above.

Would you help send us overseas?

We need to cover airfare, conference registration, passports, lodging, food, production and shipping costs for the artwork. The list of expenses is long, and the coffers are pretty empty these days. I've already put in about $3,000, but I need your help too. Please take a few minutes to browse these pages.

This is an important trip for two main reasons. First, I am only allowed to show my artwork if I'm physically at the conference. Second, this is an ideal niche market for my work, which spans art and mathematics. The contributors and visitors to this conference will both appreciate my work and inspire me for future projects.
