Math and Art @ Axiom Gallery This Friday

Coming up this Friday, five prints from my Faces of Chaos series will be included in a group exhibition at Axiom Gallery called "Math and Art." Axiom Gallery specializes in new and experimental media, and is located in Boston. This opportunity just came up a few weeks ago, so I've been working hard to get everything ready. Amazingly, my wife and I were already planning to be up in the Boston area at the end of this month, and thus will get to see the show personally!

Website Updates - New Work

I would like to invite you to take a look at a few new algorithmic artworks on my website, if you haven't visited recently. These are from my Aesthetic Explorations of Attractor Space series, and the numbers in the titles represent the time at which these particular forms were "discovered" in my software (for the techies among you, it's the Unix timestamp).

American Mathematical Society's Mathematical Imagery Gallery

Earlier last year I sent my online portfolio to the AMS for consideration. They got back to me recently, and four of my algorithmic artworks are now included in their Mathematical Imagery Gallery.

5th Edition of the 404 Festival in Italy

In January I found out that I had been selected to participate in the 5th edition of the 404 Festival. If you happen to be in Trieste, Italy between May 28th-31st, you can check out the festival and my artwork. This is the first internationally located exhibition that I have been a part of.

Professional Development Workshop

I attended a workshop sponsored by the Creative Capital Foundation and the Florida Department of Cultural Affairs at the beginning of February in St. Petersburg. Led by two artists from the NYC area, the workshop focused on marketing and promoting your artwork, and was a very rewarding experience.

Digital ImageMaker Competition

Wayne J. Cosshall at dimagemaker.com held a competition last November, focused solely on the aesthetics of the final image, and my piece A Society of Stickpeople (captured, #31) was selected as one of two winners. Said the judges of my artwork, it is "a stunning image, complex and intriguing, yet also simple and graphic." I won a copy of Extensis Portfolio, a digital asset management software. iBrow @ Los Angeles Center for Digital Art

Rex Bruce of the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art included my piece, Ice, in a group exhibition, iBrow, at the end of last year.

Art of Digital Show 2007

For the second year in a row, one of my artworks was included in the Art of Digital Show in San Diego, CA. The included piece was Tiled Faces, and another artist in the show wrote about it on his blog.
